Verdict

Verdict

True Promise has been running well in defeat on the all-weather, for all that he has become costly to follow. His turf record isn't great, though, so perhaps a chance can be taken on SHAVKAT. Successful on debut before a third at Doncaster when with Roger Varian, the son of Showcasing blew the cobwebs away for his new stable at Lingfield last month and is expected to step forward. King's Crown is back down to his last winning mark so is worth a look.

Watch out for: True Promise (3)

SHAVKAT is a risky selection, but caught eye given a quiet ride then closing late last time. His novice form suggests he is on a decent opening mark and he could improve on what we have seen so far. A market move would convince all the more. True Promise is the more obvious one having looked the winner before being overhauled late last time. He is very consistent and ought to be thereabouts again. Alpine Girl may have most to offer of the rest having run ok after getting behind early last time.
