Verdict

Verdict

Turty Tree narrowly beat Decade Of Time in a tough handicap at Ascot last month, while third-placed Archers Bay has shaped well in Listed company here since. That trio are hard to separate, with Study Of Words making more appeal having been gelded since finishing second at Ascot during the summer. That said, a chance is taken on the less exposed LIBERATE. Harry Eustace's charge beat a subsequent winner at Kempton on his first attempt at 1m4f and could prove better than his mark.

Hard to rule anything out here but minor preference is for DEVIL'S PEAK who has an excellent record over 11/12f. He showed a willing attitude at Doncaster last time and a further 5lb rise looks lenient while he has proven himself versatile ground wise. Turty Tree beat a couple of these last time and is closely matched with the selection on their Newbury meeting. After being raised just 3lb he is expected to confirm Ascot form with Archers Bay who is potentially well treated returned to handicaps. He ran well in a hot Listed contest over this C&D last time where he came clear with an unbeaten rival and once again gets the assistance of Ryan Moore.
