Verdict
A case can be made for all of these based on peak efforts. However, the nature of the race gives FUTURE PROSPECT a decent chance of ending a frustrating run of second-placed finishes. Having fallen on her chasing debut last May, the Willie Mullins-trained mare hasn't done too much wrong in defeat since and it can pay to give her another chance here. Amen Kate was outclassed in a Grade 1 novice hurdle at Fairyhouse but rates a big danger at this level, while Echoing Silence is not ruled out representing last year's winning stable.
ECHOING SILENCE was outclassed in the Grade 1 Champion Novice Hurdle at Punchestown last time but had been in good form beforehand. A point, bumper and hurdles winner, she is progressive and has the scope to make a useful chaser for Henry De Bromhead, whose yard won this last year with the useful July Flower. Amen Kate did too much too soon when pulling clear early in the Grade 1 Honeysuckle Mares Novice Hurdle at Fairyhouse last time. She can be difficult to manage, but may have more to offer now sent chasing. Future Prospect bring the most experience over the larger obstavcles. She was keen and outstayed late when second again in a beginners chase at Tramore last time, but that was a solid effort and she should be winning over fences soon for Willie Mullins. Paul Townend is back on board, which is a positive.
