Not usually an especially high-quality bumper but this year’s winner looks quite a bit better than average, her wide-margin success backed up by a decidedly useful time (13.1s faster than recorded by Zenta in the G1 Juvenile Hurdle earlier on the card) at the end of a well-run race, with a 103% finishing speed from passing where 2 out would have been.
DYSART ENOS (f134 here, 124 previously) had as good form as any beforehand but took things to a higher level with this emphatic success, travelling well in mid-field, improving to lead going best over 2f out and soon clear, merely pushed out. Her accomplished trainer can be expected to do a good job with her when she goes over hurdles.
GOLDEN ACE (f122 here, 118 previously) ran her best race, always prominent and sticking to her task under pressure. Flat bred, there is some stamina in her pedigree, her dam winning at 14f.
WILLIAMSTOWNDANCER (f120+ here, 116 previously) did well as things unfolded, losing a few lengths at the start and on the back foot for a long way before staying on well without getting in a blow.
POLITACUS (f117 here and previously) ran creditably, putting her experience to good use in racing close up and leading briefly 3f out. Like the winner, she is in good hands.
JOLIE COEUR ALLEN (f112+ here, ? previously) shaped better than the result, set plenty to do but improving stylishly into 4th 2f out only to fade. She had been second in a 13f bumper in France and was well-backed here.
GAILLIMH A RUN (f102+ here, 115 previously) was below form but with excuses, losing ground at the start and in rear for a long way, some late headway but never on terms.
